ClearCaptions provides an Internet Protocol Captioning Telephone Service (IP CTS) that converts spoken words into text captions during phone calls. When you receive or make a call, the words your callers say appear as captions on your phone’s screen.
ClearCaptions is available to qualified, hard-of-hearing U.S. residents at no cost as part of Title IV of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As part of the ADA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires telephone and internet companies to contribute to the Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) fund. The FCC manages the TRS fund and compensates service providers like ClearCaptions for providing IP CTS. That’s how we’re able to make captioned calls available at no cost to eligible individuals.
