Our Mobile App gives you a new phone number to add to your existing device. You can share your ClearCaptions number with specific people or choose to have all of your incoming mobile calls captioned.

Mobile App requirements

The ClearCaptions Mobile App is made available at no cost to any U.S. resident whose hearing loss requires captions to use the phone. If your hearing loss makes it difficult to hear during phone calls, you may qualify for ClearCaptions phone captioning service.

To use ClearCaptions’ Mobile App service, you will need:

  • Internet access – Wi-Fi or cellular data
  • An iPhone® and/or iPad® device, iOS version 12.0 or greater
  • Registered ClearCaptions account

Yes! The caption speed and size are completely customizable. When our specialist installs your phone, they will also show you how to customize your caption phone to your liking. You can also find information about customizing your phone under our Support tab. 

How do I qualify for a captioning phone?2024-12-03T22:43:02+00:00

To qualify for a captioning phone through ClearCaptions, you must be a U.S. resident who can certify that you are deaf or hard of hearing and need captions in order to use the phone. Since our caption services are currently only available in English, you’ll also need to speak and read English. An internet connection is also required to install the ClearCaptions phone.

ClearCaptions captioned phones are available to qualified, hard-of-hearing U.S. residents at no cost. While the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandates accessibility, it is the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that administers the Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) Fund. This federally managed fund covers the cost of your captioned telephone service, ensuring that individuals with hearing loss can access these communication tools at no expense. A ClearCaptions representative can help you learn more about your caption phone eligibility.
