You can change your ClearCaption Phone’s Voicemail greeting by tapping Settings on your HOME screen. Next, tap PHONE, then Voicemail Settings. You’ll be able to record, listen to your greeting, and save it once you’re satisfied.

A cellular router is the best choice for steady, reliable Wi-Fi on your ClearCaptions Phone. Mobile phone hotspots are not recommended for full-time use, as the signal might be too weak to work properly.
Yes. Once you’re approved, ClearCaptions will schedule an in-home phone setup appointment.

We don’t currently have a way to move phone numbers from other providers over to our service. However, you can still keep your existing landline number and connect it to your ClearCaptions Phone. If you need help setting this up, our customer support team is happy to guide you through it.
Yes. Your caption phone will work with either a Wi-Fi connection or an Ethernet cable.
Your ClearCaptions Phone number is always shown on the HOME screen, displayed near the top as “My Number.” You can also find your number on the Contacts screen by tapping Contacts from the HOME screen. Your number will be displayed near the top as “My Number.”
Yes, a reliable internet connection is required to use the ClearCaptions captioning service. Just like electricity is essential to power the phone and other devices in your home, a stable internet connection is necessary to operate the ClearCaptions Phone and display captions during your calls.
While the ClearCaptions Phone is provided at no cost to qualified individuals, you must have and maintain a suitable internet connection. This is not an additional fee from ClearCaptions, but a standard utility requirement just like electricity in your home. Contact the ClearCaptions Support Team if you have questions about whether your internet connection is fast enough to support the ClearCaptions service.
The setup appointment typically takes about an hour.
Many people think they need Wi-Fi to use their ClearCaptions Phone, but that’s not the only option. As long as you have an internet connection, you’re all set. There are two ways to connect:
- Wi-Fi: wireless internet that connects your devices without cords or cables
- Internet cable: also called “Ethernet,” this cord plugs directly into your ClearCaptions Phone; no Wi-Fi signal needed
