Verifying your information for the FCC
ClearCaptions is certified to provide a call captioning service (IP CTS) funded by a federal program managed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
The FCC requires ClearCaptions to verify the account information you provided when you signed up for our service and share that information with the FCC’s Telecommunications Relay Service User Registration Database (TRS-URD). This will allow us to continue to provide our service to you.
What to expect
To ensure continued access to your ClearCaptions service, we need to verify your information. This quick verification process helps maintain your caption phone service and ensures compliance with FCC requirements. A ClearCaptions representative may contact you by phone or email to complete this process.
If we’re unable to verify your information, we may need additional information. This could include a valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or government ID. Your information will remain secure and protected throughout this required verification process.
We need your consent to share the following information with the FCC:
- Your full legal name
- Your residential address and registered 911 address (if different)
- Your telephone number
- The last 4 digits of your Social Security Number
- Your date of birth
- Your self-certification of eligibility for IP CTS and the date obtained

This verification process complies with FCC regulations under 47 CFR §64.611(j)(2)(ii) to allow you to continue using our call captioning service without interruption.
